While nothing has been confirmed yet, it’s likely that Season 12 will start on Tuesday 2nd October – this ties in with the launch of the new raids and would match the release schedule in Cataclysm. Unless you’ve been hitting level90 dungeons hard (or the auction house), your rogue is likely to be geared in a horrible mix of quest reward greens and blues. Luckily you’ll be able to fix this as soon as the Honor vendors are unlocked, but until then you may want to get hold of a decent pair of weapons from the current PVE content.

The starter (blue) PVP weapons aren’t too bad, but there a couple of alternatives which will be usable until you’ve reached the season’s honor requirement for the epic PVP weapons. Mouse-overs should be working again, had a slight coding issue that broke them before.

Daggers

For the PVE Hero

For the Rep Grinder

  • Amber Slicer of Klaxxi’vess – Grinded to exalted with Klaxxi Exa nets you this fairly decent dagger. Worth getting only if you want the Klaxxi Exa rep for other items.

For the Lucky (or rich)

  • The Gloaming Blade – Once again Blizzard dangle a purple carrot in front of lockpicking rogues – this can be found inside Vine-Cracked Junkboxes. It’s BoE so may turn up on the Auction House if you have spare gold burning a hole in your pocket.

For Blacksmiths and Auctioneers

  • Masterwork Ghost Shard – A crafted BoE dagger that needs five spirits of harmony. This will not be a cheap purchase.

For the Quester

Swords, Fists, Maces and Axes

*Some races receive a +3 expertise bonus from using certain weapons – maces for Dwarves, daggers/swords for Gnomes and swords/maces for Humans. Orcs receive a +5 bonus from fists and axes. It’s worth using the correct weapons for your race as +3 expertise is worth 1020 expertise rating. The bonus doesn’t stack as it applies to the weapon rather than the character.*

For the Lucky (or rich)

  • Krol Scimitar – Another Vine-Cracked Junkbox item. It’s BoE and if I found one I’d probably sell it to help fund enchants for this week.

For the PVE Hero

For Blacksmiths and Auctioneers

  • Masterwork Ghost-Forged Blade – Don’t mistake these Masterwork versions for the regular Ghost-Forged items, there’s a big difference in quality. This also needs five spirits of harmony, so don’t expect it to be cheap!
  • Fist of Fate – A BoE drop, currently selling for 9000g on my server.

For the Quester

There are a couple of other bop 450-463ilvl blues that drop from rare mobs that are worth keeping, but at this stage it’s not worth going out of your way to farm for them.

90 at Last

I hit 90 on my rogue last night and have built up enough rested XP on my alt rogue to keep me sane while playing it. Good luck to those still grinding, as an extra incentive to get there and not gouge your eyes out, Blizzard have kindly fixed our blind ability. “Blind should always land as intended. Other players should not be able to dodge, block, or parry Blind.” Thank you very, very much.

About Dcruize

Rogue addict, PVP junkie, insomniac. I started playing WoW in 2006 and, after being told that 'nobody wants a rogue', tried to level a priest. I quickly realized that love and approval were a poor alternative to stealth and ambush and have been backstabbing away quite happily ever since.
