Good tips. I'd add that if you can sap the pet before you open up on the hunter it disables some of the buffs they share and prevents the hunter from using Master's call to free himself. Also, I was told by a hunter friend that it's just plain disorientating for the hunter.

Kinda confused with your tactic here. From my experience , a good mage will never blink after he sees the rogue being frozen down after a frostbite or shattered barrier procc. He will rather start pollying you immediately after garrote silence wears off , and on top of everything he will do that facing away from you(i.e you cant gouge him). That leaves you with 4 options.

A)eat the polly and trinket it --->> seems rather wrong as then you will be vulnerable to frost nova followed by a deep freeze.

B)COSing it , which will definitely lead to an iceblock.

C)Blinding it , which will most likely lead to an iceblock.

D)Vanish + Sap him. By doing so you get the option to reopen on him. You cant really CS him since he havent use his blink nor trinket yet , so he'll just blink your CS -> trinket your KS -> Ice Block your blind :S

Seems to me that the best option here is to reopen with garrote and unload on him (Have in mind that this time Ice Barrier will be on CD so the dmage on him will be pure. Oh wait , now we really get to the section that this will lead to an Iceblock.

Of all the above , Option D seems the best to me as it's the only one that gives you the chance to reopen.

On a somewhat different theory , ive seen rogues opening with CS to force a gouged blink from the very beginning of the fight. Now this sounds ideal but it requires amazingly good timing and low pings. The way you do this is you CS from a position that you have moved "on top" of your opponent but he is still infront of you and immediately facing him and gouge. Can assure you its pretty hard to master it but really gives you the upper hand on thr fight.

Sorry if my thoughts carried me away in a deep theoretical post. The actual purpose of the comment was that you cant really expect a mage to blink that easy after he sees you frost down after a Frostbite or ShatterBarrier.

Best Regards

Does this macro still work? When I use sap1 it it moves sap2 between 10 and 11 until it targets a rogue/druid at which point sap 2 stays in actionbutton10 but it refuses to cast sap :( any idea how to make it work??

Going against say a rogue/priest, it means you can spam the macro to try and catch their rogue without risking sapping the priest. You may want to do this because the priest is already sapped and you don't want to put sap on diminishing returns.

Looks like a minumum of 51 points in Assassination for PVP now, and still need 23 points in Sub as one needs 20 to get Prep to make 21 points plus 2 in Dirty dieeds for 23. That leaves 2 points to put wherever at level 85.

To all of the rogues who aren't level capped yet, but hyping up sub...

Come back after you hit 80 and everyone's decked out in resilience gear.

But I agree, spambush blows people up pre 80.

To the person who said Restless Blades is OP, should do some research. As it stands, given the number of points one must invest in combat (filler points), RB is actually a dps loss given the new cata talents. If you could still get out of combat with 51pts, then it would be very powerful, but as it stands - the 4 filler points + 3 points in RB does not make up for the shortfall that 7 points in other trees for dps would entail.

Though it is a good ability, as it stands, it is underpowered.

I've always been muti but the problem we get is warrior/healer. Im a bit of a noob to Shadowdance but looking into it as the cheat death seems rather OP :P
When we lose it's always that i die not that my partner does so im thinking Sub might be better for my comp.

It's only my first season so everything's still a bit new to me :)

Looking good, a nice mix of PVP and PVE without stacking up on trash-stats :) You playing subtlety or assassination in 2v2? Hard comp btw, used to play it a couple of seasons ago as HfB/Holy, even with the massive dmg boost from HfB we used to struggle.

I am using a sub. backstab build to lvl at the moment belive it or not lol. I am lvl 67. The rotation is Premed. Ambush kidneyshot. shadowstep. Then back stab the stunned target till dead perhaps using a finishing move if 6secs is not enough time to kill mob. This is very powerfull and leaves you at 100% health most of the time.
