This week has seen the release of another two weapons suitable for Rogue-PVP (thanks Flair for the heads up on the Rondel), neither of which would need a raiding guild or a 25man PUG to get hold of.

The first is a BoE mace from Brewfest, Tankard o’ Terror. Judging by the amount of them in the AH the drop rate isn’t too harsh. While Combat-Mace spec isn’t as strong as Swords/Close-Quarters-Combat, this is still a hard-hitting lvl226 weapon. So, if you fancy giving combat a try without raiding Ulduar/ToC for high damage mainhanders, (and if you don’t mind missing out on selling this mace for a couple of thousand gold), you might want to give this a try.

Secondly we have a new drop from The Black Knight in Trial of the Champion Heroic, Black Knight’s Rondel. The drop rate isn’t too horrid and the dagger isn’t unique – it has nice stats and http://shadowpanther.net has calculated it to be almost on a par with Sinister Revenge, without the hastle of clearing Nax25. For a 41/5/25* or HfB build, these daggers would be an excellent starting point if you’re unable (or uninclined) to raid.
* The new Master Poisoner spec (44/2/25) is looking like it needs a fast offhand dagger to really shine.

… must … have … Rondel.
WOW, what a sexy OH in a HfB build! My rogue is my alt so she only gets to raid once in a blue moon; therefore I will be begging for TOC runs quite often!
However. Would you be able to recommend any better daggers for the new MP spec? I can’t seem to find anything under about 1.6 that doesnt’ require a raid or arena rating. Am I SOL?
Fast offhands seem few and far between, especially for non-raiders.
The best I can come up with is Webbed Death from Nax25 – Spider Wing seems to get cleared first, especially in PUGs, so theoretically you wouldn’t have to hang around for long. There’s the 1.5 speed Namlak’s Superthingy and the 1.6 Titansteel Shanker, but other than those it’s a bit limited.
Out of curiosity I’ll buy a Librarian’s Paper Cutter tonight and see what it’s like against a target dummy compared to with a Furious Mutilator.
I tried my first games last night as 44/2/25 and it seemed quite good once it got rolling. Having to shiv to keep 5/5 topped up at times was annoying, but with a faster OH that won’t be so harsh I hope.
Whoops for that spotify link, misclicked….
With 44/2/25 It seems dangerous having deadly on OH because shiv won’t be instant crippling. Cruize; has this caused many dramas for you, I’m thinking peeling might be a bit harder.
I’m still unsure – I haven’t had noticeable problems yet keeping crippling applied, I guess the deadly poison is providing nice debuff protection for it. Watching 5stacks of deadly fall off someone and being unable to shiv it doesn’t seem nice and happened a couple of times, but this might be down to my slow 1.8 daggers failing to proc.
Post #1 and 2 pretty summed up on my thoughts.
No one ever runs naxx25 anymore, and if there is a group, its usually a fail after one or 2 wings… at least on my server.
Having the Rondel will help out those that are starting pvp, as mentioned before a heroic once a day to get a drop almost equiv to Sinister Revenge is just priceless.
Webbed Death is definitely the way to go, as it drops off the first boss in the spider, and spider wing will always be ran first. Otherwise a Librarian Paper Cutter is a good stater too, I used it for about 3months and must say its also a good starter weapon, currently using webbed death.
tbh I don’t feel I’ll be liking the play style of 44/2/25, having dots on opponent + the need to shiv.
Instead I’ve gone to shD now, as most of you know, this spec is very bursty, and CD reliant. However, if you managed and controlled right this is a very deadly spec.
I’m also very excited for the next patch (maybe) as hinted that the Sub spec needs/will be getting a buff by Blizzard.

Until then, I’ll just practice more on shD spec, faceroll with 41/5/25, and watch closely how 44/2/25 goes.
I’d like to give ShD a try at some point, are you having any problems vs plate?
shD is leathal if used properly.
For plates, I usually set them up in a stun first, gain about 2 points and get an EA off, then dance ambush and rupture on first 5pointer. They’re usually dead by then
I think having EA on plates is the key to beating them, for me anyway
Dual tankards both sporting instant poison, Dismantle + Killing Spree will wipe out any enemy with aprox 16k health before they can react. Fun, Fun, Fun!
I’ve been known to destroy mounted enemy players in mid flight using Killing Spree + Parachute.
I don’t find it an issue keeping Deadly poison stacks up using a fast offhand (1.4 speed).
I’m currently using Gouge of the Frigid Heart (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47300)MH with Wound Poison.
For OH I’m using Stygian Bladebreaker (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47255) with Deadly against plate-wearers (Envenom!)…
Or…
Tarnished Gutgore Ripper (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=49465) with Mind-Numbing against casters.
Sometimes in Arena I’ll swap between the two.
Have you guys, who worry about crippling poison getting applied, ever tried this:
/equipslot 17 relentless gladiator’s shiv (or whatever)
/cast shiv
/equipslot 17 relentless gladiator’s mutilator (or again)
